Bringing on the Triangle Blues Challenge: Time and ticket information announced

DURHAM — The Triangle Blues Society will present its annual Triangle Blues Challenge at the Blue Note Grill, 709 Washington St., Sept 12, from noon until 6 p.m.

Tickets are $10, at the door.

Local and regional blues acts will compete at this event for a chance to perform at the International Blues Challenge, sponsored by The Blues Foundation, January 18-22, 2022, in Memphis, Tenn.

The names of the artists who will perform will be announced later.

The Triangle Blues Society (TBS) is an all-volunteer non-profit organization that promotes and supports blues music. The society, an affiliate of The Blues Foundation, presents live blues in weekly and monthly (first Sunday) jams.

TBS holds a blues challenge every year to select a band and a solo/duo act to represent the Triangle Blues Society at the annual International Blues Challenge in Memphis, Tenn. Fundraisers by TBS during their “Road to Memphis” events help the musicians with their travel and lodging expenses.

In 2019, TBS solo act Jon Shain was awarded first place at the International Blues Challenge.
