Bo Diddley passed this month at 79. A blues and rock-n-roll icon, this says it all: www.youtube.com/watch?v=sgzn7VyoqEw . RIP

Congrats to Blue Martini, Blue Bayou and Yancy's! Martini was voted "Best of The Triangle" for their martinis and post-10pm food. Bayou and Yancy's shared "Where to Dance" honors.

Heartfelt thanks to everyone who attended Skeeter's May tribute at Yancy's! It was a wonderful and befitting event, and Vanessa and 20 of Skeeter's family members were quite touched to hear all those great Skeeter songs performed. Even though it was a rainy Thursday, 125 folks attended, many of you driving over 50 miles in a downpour, to pay respects to Skeeter and help with expenses. $750 was raised at the door and tip jar alone and other substantial donations were also made. Thank you for coming out in the spirit of kindness and community!!

Kudos to Papa Mojo's! Best Cajun/Creole food in NC, reasonable prices, and bringing in top NC blues, often at only a $5 cover. Let's support 'em and help 'em keep growing as a venue!

Long-time Durham blueser River Cabbage passed in April. His band, which includes his widow, Rainbow, is now continuing on in his honor and memory. Dates at www.myspace.com/gotohellbluesband

Blues on the Radio
Looking for Blues music on your radio dial. A very helpful website for finding Blues radio programs is Mary4Music. When you go to the Blewzzman's site, you might just find something more of bluesy interest to you. And check out www.MountainofBlues with host and producer Michael Cloeren. Then there is Bluesville on XM Satellite Radio with host and good friend Bill Wax.
